Empties - February 2015

Hi Guys!
I've been planning on doing this post for a while now but wanted to add at least more thing to the pile so finally here is my EMPTIES post! Ive collected these now for about 2 months but threw away 4 mascaras completely forgetting to add them to the pile! I keep all of my empties in a bag and plan on doing a post every so often when the pile builds up, letting you know if i'd repurchase or not, so here's what I've got....

NYX HD Concealer

Repurchase
If it wasn't for the fact that this concealer is ALWAYS sold out in my shade online I would have definitely repurchased by now. One of my favourite concealers I've ever used and for such a great price. It's incredibly creamy and covers dark circles and blemishes perfectly.

MAC Fix+ (x2)

Repurchased
I've mentioned Fix+ before in my MAC Starter kit but I honestly couldn't live without it! I constantly using it on face brushes and on my beauty blender just to get a more dewy finish to the skin and I think that as long as I live I will always repurchase fix+!

MAC Brush Cleanser (x2)
Repurchased
I have already repurchased this but I think just out of ease. Obviously it does the job and it does it well but i'm looking to try a cheaper alternative to this seeing as I go through it like water, so let me know in the comments if you can recommend any good inexpensive brush cleansers!
Benefit They're Real Sample

Repurchased
I got this mini sample in a benefit sample sized kit and knew I immediately wanted it in the full size so it went straight on my Christmas list! Obviously a cult favourite and for good reason, it thickens and lengthens so well and is probably the one mascara I get the most compliments on when I wear!

MAC Foundation
Repurchased
This is quite old now but i'd been saving it to do Back To MAC for so long and just put it away and forgot about it! Mine's in the shade NW20 and I repurchased it quite a while back. It really does give good coverage and look flawless but recently when I've been wearing it my skin reacts so bad and just flares up in a rash so I think i'm definitely going to stay of this for a while and keep experimenting with drugstore foundations.

Lush Ocean Salt

Might repurchase
The only reason I think I might repurchase this scrub is for the smell. It is to DIE for and just smells like summer cocktails! Naturally being Lush it is expensive and I feel I could get a decent scrub for half the price which will do the job! However if you aren't on a budget it is a lovely face and body scrub none the less.

MAC Eyeshadow - All That Glitters

Won't repurchase
This shadow has truly been through the wars. I got this back in 2013 or maybe even earlier and I had depoted the shadow and just kept the pot for doing Back To MAC. Sadly when I went on holiday I took my MAC palette and this shadow completely smashed :( I managed to use what was left of it for quite a while and although being a beautiful colour, I'm starting to explore cheaper alternative brands to MAC shadows such as Morphe Brushes and Makeup Geek and because of this and only this I don't think I will be repurchasing this shadow for a least a very long time.

So that's all of my empties for now! I'm definitely now making a conscious effort to keep empty products instead of just throwing them away. Is there anything that you always have in your empties pile? Clearly recently for me it's been a lot of MAC! Hope you enjoyed this post.

Morphe Brushes - Eyeshadow Swatches

Hey Guys!
A couple weeks back I ordered some eyeshadows from Morphe Brushes as I'd heard they were incredible for their price from lots of YouTubers and also one of my favourite YouTubers, Jaclyn Hill had just released her favourites palette with them.

I also ordered a few brushes which I'm loving so let me know if you want a post on them! I thought I'd just do a brief swatch post of the eyeshadows I purchased... Sorry for the names of some of them being numbers, it's all they have written on the bottom!

The first row in my palette are more neutral and also darker colours. My favourite is definitely Bronzed Ivy (2nd from the right) even though it is more of a bronze than an ivy it is a beautiful colour. Ice (4th from the left) seemed to be the least pigmented and hardest to swatch however all the colours are very smooth and creamy which is perfect for neutral colours.

(From left to right) 27, Gunpowder, Velveteen, Ice, 18, Bronzed Ivy, Porcelain

This next row of colours follow a brighter pattern, which I'm not used to wearing however I got these so I can start experimenting more! I LOVE the shade 80 (far right) as it is a perfect matte mix of baby blue and mint green and will be perfect for summer. Also Secretive (far left) is a perfect matte burgundy shade which I love!

(From left to right) Secretive, Radiance, 56, Dancing Queen, Starlight, 80

The last row of the two remaining shades are both baby pinks, one being a shimmer shade with little bits of glitter in (29) and the second shade being a matte baby pink (Pretty in Pink) which is definitely one of my favourite shades that I got - i'm currently loving bright matte shades!

(From left to right) 29, Pretty in Pink

Overall I love these shadows and the shades I picked. They are incredibly affordable at less than £2 a shadow however postage to the UK got quite expensive! I plan to do some makeup looks with these soon and experiment a lot so let me know if there's any particular colour I should use. Hope you enjoyed this post!

Mini Haul - Superdrug

Hey Guys!
I posted a picture on my instagram (@lasheslinerlove) on Monday of a little super drug haul! I wasn't even planning on going but ran in when it was 5 minutes from closing which probably stopped me from buying more! The majority of the products are lip products, all but one! So here's what I got....

Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipstick - Firefly 755

This was a random purchase for me as I honestly don't think I've ever purchased from Max Factor before. I was looking for the perfect lipstick to pair with my MAC Whirl Lipliner to get that desired Kylie Jenner lip colour and this took my eye. It's a mauve shade with a satin texture and when I tried it at home it does work perfectly with Whirl! I also love the gold packaging as I have it displayed in a lipstick stand so it looks very pretty!

MUA Matte Lipstick - Pouty Pink

Matte lipsticks are my favourite formula for lipsticks so when I saw these were only £1 I had to grab one and this shade was the only one left in my store. The colour swatches a lot brighter than the pink on the packaging but it does seem like great quality for the price! This will be perfect for the transition in to spring!

MUA Blusher - Cupcake

Another MUA product that I picked up for £1! I really want to try experimenting with different blushes as I always stick to the same ones so I only own a few. I'm yet to try this but the colour looks very natural and how wrong can you go when a products only £1?

MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer - Serene

Can you tell I was on a bit of an MUA hype? I'm loving the liquid lipstick trend at the moment and this looked promising. Again I'm yet to try this but the packaging is so cute with a frosted finish around the tube and the actual product itself is a pretty baby pink shade. This was only £3 which again is a great price for the product, especially if you're on a budget so I'm excited to try this!

L'oreal Color Riche Lipstick Intense Blondes - Cassis Passion 376

L'oreal for me has always been a strong drugstore brand however I used their face products and have never tried a lipstick from them. This colour stood out as it's a warm deep red, almost a berry red and swatches SO creamy. I love the gold L'oreal packaging and after this purchase will definitely be picking up some more in this range.

Revlon Colourburst Matte Balm - Elusive 205

I picked this up as I knew I already loved this line as I have another shade from it. For a matte lip product its very moisturising; which is where the balm comes into action so it feels more velvety yet looks matte. The shade is a baby pink and the product itself is very thick and opaque. I find that these matte balms tend to stay on for a good few hours which is great for a drugstore product.

So that's all I picked up! What are you currently loving from the drugstore? Clearly i'm loving pinks! Let me know if there's anything you think I should checkout.

Makeup of the day: Night Out

Hey Guys!
On Monday night I went to a club in Bournemouth where Callum Best was hosting his Birthday party. I ended up not even meeting him but took pictures of my makeup when I was getting ready! I've been trying to use things in my collection that I never reach for so here's what I used....

For a primer I used my travel sized MAC Strobe Cream which gives an amazing dewy glow to the skin through your foundation. I also used some Maybelline Baby Lips to moisturise my lips while I do the rest of my makeup. I've been loving L'oreal True Match at the moment so used this for my foundation. I then primed my eyes with MAC Paint pot in Soft Ochre. This is where I wanted to use some products that I hardly ever use... I put down my MAC Palette and picked up my MUA Undress Me Too Palette. I used the shade Lavish (5th from the left on the top row) mixed with Benefit Hoola in my crease for more definition. I then darkened up the outer v with Obsessed (5th from the left on the bottom row). For the lid I used MAC Lily-White Pigment from their A Fantasy of Flowers collection. I love the colour of this but for some reason have hardly ever used it before!

For eyeliner, I used my ever trusty L'oreal Super Liner Perfect Slim - Intense Black on the top as it's so easy to draw on your liner as close to your lash line as possible. For my lower water line I used MAC Powerpoint Eye Pencil - Engraved and it stayed on all night! Moving back onto my face, for concealer I used my Maybelline Instant Anti-Age The Eraser Eye - Light and then to bronze, used Benefit Hoola again! I used my MAC Powder Blush in Desert Rose and then blended it in along with my bronzer. For eyebrows, I used my Sleek MakeUp Brow Kit - Dark and just used the powder. To finish off my face I used MAC Studio Careblend Pressed Powder - Medium and then used MAC Fix+ all over the face to add to the dewy finish.

For lashes I used Benefit They're Real on top and then Maybelline Great Lash Mascara on my bottom lashes. I then lined my lips with MAC Whirl Lipliner and then filled in my lips with Revlon Colourburst Matte Balm - Elusive which I had just bought that day and really loved. And that completes the look! I know it wasn't very intense reviews on everything but was more for the products!

What's your go-to look for a night out? Or do you normally experiment with new things?

Current Wish List

I'm always on the look for new products but recently these have been the products constantly catching my eye. A lot of them are well raved about on youtube and on many beauty blogs so here's what I'm currently saving up for...

1. Anastasia of Beverly Hills Contour Kit
This product seems to have sparked a whole new wave of contour kits on the market as it seems so practical to have all your highlight and contour shades together in one palette. I really want to create my own and pick my own shades so I can get into contouring more and it's perfect how the shades just pop out for refill pans!

2. Becca Shimmering Skin Perfecter Pressed - Opal
This has recently been raved about as one of the best highlighters on the market, especially for it's price. I first heard about this early last year from YouTuber Jaclyn Hill who now raves about Becca and all of their highlighters and after seeing it become more and more famous it's definitely something I want to get my hands on!

3. Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick - Velvet
I included one of these Too Faced Melted Lipsticks in my January favourites post as I currently have and love the shade nude. Velvet looks like a beautiful shade and I'm all for a berry coloured lip at the moment but just need to get my hands on some! I love the consistency and scent of these products so will definitely be picking this shade up soon.

4. Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
Another Too Faced Product! Aside from the incredibly cute packaging, I have wanted to purchase this mascara for a while now as it's so raved about. It's supposedly incredible at thickening and lengthening, giving you a false lash effect without the falsies!

5. Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick - Beige
Probably the product that has been on my wish list the longest. I ALWAYS swatch this product but get heartbroken at the price as it's so beautiful but just a highlighter right? A gorgeous one however, I'm looking to pick this up in duty free in the airport next month to save myself a little bit of money! This is definitely my favourite of all the shimmer brick shades, however they all are incredible colours.

6. Nars Sheerglow Foundation
When it comes to foundations I prefer a more dewy finish to a matte one, and I'm always on the look for the perfect foundation for me. I love how it appears so fresh and gives a natural glow to the skin as even though I enjoy wearing a lot of makeup, I still normally prefer a more natural look. I'm in between a few foundations at the moment but as soon as I use some up this will be a definite purchase for me!

7. Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadows
Makeup Geek have truly risen to fame in the beauty world in the last year and I've always watched Marlena, the founder of the brand on YouTube. I'm still yet to get my hands on any of the shadows as all the shades I want are normally sold out! Their new line of foiled eyeshadows look incredible and have been so raved about for their pigment and wet 'foiled' look. They currently come in 10 shades and I honestly want them all!

8. MAC Viva Glam Miley Cyrus
I think i'm one of the only true remaining Miley Cyrus fans in the world so I may be a little biased but even still I've loved all of the past Viva Glam's, and this one is no different! The lipstick is a hot pink amplified shade and the lip glass matches with a shimmer to it. Both very fun colours and a great cause for your money to go to! These will definitely sell out quick but I will definitely try my hardest to get a hold of these products.

So that's everything in my current wish list however things are constantly being added on to it daily! What is on your current wish list? Let me know so I can check it out!

January Favourites

Hey Guys!
Being the start of February, naturally it made sense to do my January favourites! So here's what I've been loving throughout the month of January...

1. Urban Decay Vice Palette 3

I visited Urban Decay late last year with no intentions of buying this palette but as soon as I swatched it, I knew I literally needed it. I haven't put it down since I bought it and have used it for every make-up look I've done when using eyeshadow.

It has a great mix of mattes and shimmers and is a warm palette with plenty of neutrals. The only downside for me is the packaging. I'm personally not a fan of the green and silver colour scheme and the material makes it impossible for the palette not to get covered in fingerprints, however I LOVE the slimline case it comes in which also fits my iPad mini perfectly! I will be doing a full swatch and review post on the Vice Palette 3.

2. L'oréal Super Liner Perfect Slim - Intense Black

This liner has saved my life. I always struggled with liquid liner but the thin pen shaped tip on this liner makes it so easy to get a straight flowing line. It rarely smudges and lasts for hours, is incredibly black and doesn't crack or flake, what more could you want!

3. No.7 Precision Lips Pencil - Fire

I purchased this product about 4 months ago however just put it with the rest of my makeup and completely forgot about it. Recently I've been trying to get more into drugstore makeup seeing as I'm a student now and on a tight budget, so I pulled this out of my collection! I always wear a lipliner under any lipstick I wear but especially with red. This liner is honestly amazing, its the perfect bright red which can be darkened or lightened depending on the lipstick used but once that lipstick has come off, this liner also maintains as a base no matter what you're eating or drinking that day! Definitely want to try more from this range.

4. Milani Baked Blush - Luminoso

I got this blush last year on holiday in St Lucia as they don't sell Milani in England and i'd heard great things about the brand. I've never really been a blush person as I'd usually just reach for a bronzer but this blush leaves such a nice, natural glow that it's hard to put down. Retailing at $8.49 (Around £5.64) it really is great value for money and is a great dupe for Nars Orgasm blush however it has slightly more peach undertones.

5. Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wearing Lipstick - Melted Nude

I picked this up last year in Sephora in Paris as it was the first time i'd seen them in person so I thought i'd get one to try out. It wasn't until the new colours were released recently that I got into this lipstick as I seem to forget I buy a lot of things! The shade is a perfect browny nude and the smell is incredible, it really is long wearing and is perfect with just a nude lipliner underneath. I'm dying to get my hands on some of the new colours, especially velvet!

6. Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette

This palette is the perfect neutrals shade and is what it says on the tin; the basics. I find that when i'm travelling this is the perfect palette to take to rock a neutral eye or a smokey eye and the palette is so slim and pocket sized.

The shadows are very pigmented, especially the black but my favourite shade has to be naked 2! A definite must for your collection.

7. Maybelline Instant Anti-Age The Eraser Eye - Light

And finally the infamous Maybelline concealer! This seems to be the holy grail drugstore concealer as it doesn't crease or flake and is so affordable. I love the application as the sponge tip makes it so easy to apply particularly under the eyes. I think they could provide a few more shades but for a drugstore brand this product is incredible!

So that's all of my favourites for January! What were you loving last month?
